In 1904 André Klein from the Swiss area of Meiringen became a partner in a confectionery business in Basel. From the start, the original Basler Läckerli – hard, spiced biscuits – were a fixture in the range. From as early as 1920, the products were being sold in decorative biscuit tins with great market appeal. In 1988 Läckerli Huus opened its first shop outside the Basel region, in Bern. In 1994, Läckerli Huus Ltd took over the most famous manufacturer of traditionally made cream caramels.

Since 2014, the Läckerli Huus head office and production site has been based in Frenkendorf. Managing Director Miriam Baumann has led the company, with approx. 150 employees, since the start of 2007. Alongside the original Basler Läckerli biscuits and cream caramels, it also manufactures pralines, truffles and other chocolate and biscuit specialities. Its premium quality products are sold in its own shops, online and in retail outlets.
